Guido Reni (4 November 1575 – 18 August 1642) was an Italian Baroque painter recognized for his classical style, reminiscent of Simon Vouet, Nicolas Poussin, and Philippe de Champaigne. He mainly painted religious works and mythological and allegorical subjects. Active in Rome, Naples, and Bologna, Reni became a leading figure in the Bolognese School, influenced by the Carracci family.
