Johann Michael Ferdinand Heinrich Hofmann (March 19, 1824 – June 23, 1911) was a German painter who worked from the late 19th to the early 20th century. He was the uncle of fellow German painter Ludwig von Hofmann. Born in Darmstadt and later passing away in Dresden, Hofmann is primarily known for his numerous paintings depicting the life of Jesus Christ.
